Club Cross Country Championship Races 2009/10

Below is the full fixture list of the races for the 2009/10 cross country season and comprises of all of the races in both the Oxford Mail Cross Country League, the Wessex Cross Country League and the Chiltern Cross Country League as well as the Berks, Bucks & Oxon, the Oxfordshire County, the Southern and the National Cross Country Championships.
Please also note that the White Horse Harriers’ senior club cross country championship series comprises 12 races 9 of which will count towards each competitor’s final championship standing. The races which count towards the club championships standings are marked in bold below.

White Horse Club Cross Country Time Trials
The White Horse Harriers Cross Country Time Trial Series consists of four races throughout the cross country season, taking place either on a Thursday evening in place of a usual training session or on a Saturday afternoon. The distances of the races for the different age categories do vary and will be confirmed prior to each event. The results of the Time Trial events contribute towards each young athlete’s overall standing in the club’s Cross Country Championships.

The aim of the Time Trial events is to provide as much opportunity as possible for our athletes to gain experience of competitive race conditions which is particularly relevant for those athletes unable to compete on Sundays.
Oxford Mail Cross Country League
The Oxford Mail Cross Country League consists of five races which take place on the first Sunday of each month between November and March. Races for the younger age groups are from 10:00am, followed by the women’s run (approx. 2.5 miles) usually at 11:10am. Men approx. 5 miles at 11:40am. Runners score for team points and the scores are cumulative over the season. Individual scores are also tallied and each runner must complete 4 races to count.
