Back to route list < Summer Cross Country Handicap

This is the route of the Club Cross Country Handicap, which usually takes place in May. The start, and meeting point, is just where a minor road leaves the main B4001 (road to Lambourn) at an angle some 500 yards to the south of Sparsholt Firs radio mast. Some more details of this event can be found on our web site.

The undulating course is between five and six miles long. It starts on a tarmac section, but quickly moves to track and Ridgeway. There are some lovely views over the surrounding countryside if you have time to admire them.

The Handicap is run for the “Pieces Trophy” which will be awarded to the first to finish. The usual rules about bribing the handicapper and lying through your teeth about being unfit and/or having some unspecified injury apply...

So, no excuses for getting lost now!
