Club Road Race Championship Standings 2008
Last updated: Saturday, 12 July, 2008The White Horse Harriers were out in force last Thursday evening in the lovely village of Combe. It was the third round of the Mota–vation race series organised by Kidlington Road Runners. With the race being part of the Harriers’ road race championship there was a strong turnout, with ten members competing over the 4–mile course.
The race was run in sunny, if slightly breezy conditions, with Stephen Kimber of Windsor, Slough and Eton, winning in a time of 20:04. Paul Jégou led the White Horse Harrier contingent across the line finishing in 12th place in 21:25 just ahead of Jason Cooke (24th) in 21:51. Simon Atkin was third for the club in 25:45, narrowly beating Simon Leech to be the first Harrier vet home.
In the ladies race, Nikki Smith of Witney Road Runners clocked up her third win in the series, finishing 34th overall in 22:25. Sarah Baker, the only Harrier lady, had to pull out with an injury.
