Club Road Race Championship Standings 2008
Last updated: Friday, 15 August, 2008Another strong turnout by our White Horse Harriers ensured the fourth round of the Mota–vation race series organised by Kidlington Road Runners would be a competitive affair, the race being the seventh round of the 2008 Harriers’ road race championships.
Stephen Kimber of Windsor, Slough and Eton repeated his result in the previous round at Combe in a very closely fought battle with Stephen Male of Oxford City AC in a time of 21:40 – just one second clear. Once again Paul Jégou led our White Horse Harrier home to finish in 11th place in 23:04 ten places ahead of Jason Cooke (21st) in 23:39. John Peake turned the tables on Simon Leech (96th) and Simon Atkin (114th) to finish as first veteran Harrier across the line.
Nikki Smith of Witney Road Runners continued her dominance of the ladies series by competing her fourth straight win in the series, again finishing well clear of her nearest challengers in 24th position overall in a time of 23:59. Sarah Baker, our sole Harrier lady representative, finished in 214th position to grab maximum points and cement her position at the top of the club’s ladies championships leader board.
